Beginning in April of 2000, Property Management embarked on a momentous project. This project was to accomplish the implementation of changing the capital equipment threshold for CSU from $1,000.00 to $5,000.00 effective July 01, 2000. What this meant was, that the Property Management Unit of Business and Financial Service would be reporting and tracking equipment that had a cost/value of $5000.00 or more. Exceptions to be allowed were equipment on loan, equipment purchased on active Sponsored Projects that were negotiated at a different threshold, and other special circumstances.
To verify and identify items to be preserved in the Property Management System, an inventory was begun in April of 2000 that was to accomplish the retagging of this equipment with a different looking tag than had been used before. This tag appears like the tags formerly used, however the CAM THE RAM logo was added for easy identification.

This project, Inventory Retag 2000, was closed and evaluated in May 2002. Information about the inventory was then summarized and evaluated. This information was then utilized to determine the scheduling of future inventories for all CSU departments. Inventories are scheduled once every two years in compliance with Federal Regulations.
